Yuridia has been a revelation in the world of music, becoming synonymous with musical talent and success.  She came in second place in the fourth season of La Academia and has since become one of the best-selling singers in Mexico and the United States.  In 2006 she was nominated for three Billboard Latino awards.  In Mexico, her album Habla el Corazón went double platinum, selling over 250,000 copies.

Yuridia Gaxiola Flores was born in Hermosillo, in the Mexican state of Sonora on October 4, 1986.  Still in her twenties, she has become one of the most important figures in music.  After touring Mexico and several cities in the United States following the end of her season of La Academia, she released her first album La Voz de un Ángel, which went on to sell over 480,000 copies.  Although she took some time off to give birth to her son Phoenix, she returned to singing in 2006 stronger than ever with her album Habla el Corazón, which reached diamond status, surpassing Luis Miguel’s album sales 10 years prior.

In 2007, days before releasing Entre Mariposas, she was awarded a gold record for selling over 50,000 copies in Mexico and eventually reached platinum-status, selling more than 100,000 copies.  In the United States, her album debuted at number 7 in the pop charts.
