In the eight years after coming in second on the first season of La Academia, Víctor García has acted in telenovelas that include Dos Chicos de Cuidado en la Ciudad, Los Sánchez, Campeones, and Pobre Rico… Pobre.  He has been nominated for many different international accolades including the Lo Nuestro awards, the Billboard Latino Awards, the Oye! Awards, and the Latin Grammys.

He earned a gold and platinum record in Mexico for his albums Víctor García, Loco Por Ti, Arráncame (which featured the first song he wrote, “Alma de Niña”)and Lo Mejor de Mí, selling over 66,000 copies in the United States.

In February 2008, he performed with other alumni of La Academia in the Auditorio Nacional (National Auditorium) in Mexico City in a concert entitled “Los Grandes de La Academia” (The Greats of La Academia).
In June of that same year, Víctor returned to the Auditorio Nacional, this time alone, fulfilling his dream of offering a concert there before an audience of 10,000.

He is currently promoting his most recent album Cuando Amar Duele, which includes the single “Maldita Luna, which became a hit on radio stations only a few weeks after its release.  It has been well-received and points to a promising future for this young and talented singer.
